What exactly is Infinite Campus Parent/Student Portal?

Infinite Campus is a record-keeping program used by the Jefferson-Scranton School District to keep student information. It allows both students and their parents/guardians access to data such as attendance and grades. You may also view your student’s current class schedule. The Portal presents information about students to authorized student, parents, or guardians in real time with secure socket layer (SSL) encryption of the information that is being transmitted.

M = student has not turned in or taken that particular assignment, quiz, or test.

Who can I talk to regarding Attendance related issues?

Call the MS or HS office to inquire about attendance issues, but give them 24 to 48 hours to finalize daily classroom attendance before you call to report any errors.

top

How often is information updated in the parent/student portal?

Information is updated in real time. However, the offices generally take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to collect data from various sources to update the student attendance record. Teachers should update their gradebook and lesson plans on a weekly basis. Some assignments (projects, tests, papers) may take longer to grade and not show in the portal for several weeks.

Can I access the portal from anywhere (Home, Work, etc.)?

Yes. As long as you meet the minimum computer and Internet access requirements. See minimum requirements section at the end of the Portal Navigation Guide.

Can anyone else see my attendance, grades, etc.?

No, as long as you keep your username and password safe. If you think someone else knows your username or password, go to Change Account Information on the left side of your information page and change it. All attempts at logging into the system are recorded and monitored. A full audit trail is tracked on sensitive data. You can view the audit trail at any time when logged into the system by clicking the “View Access Log” link on the left-hand side of the screen.

My spouse is not listed in the parent portal family information. Why?

The Parent Portal account is issued to the parent/guardian that signed the request form. The portal request form showed all parent/guardian contact information that is in the Infinite Campus system. So if you were listed on the verification form and all demographic information was correct, all is good!

When that parent/guardian who was issued the portal account logs into the portal, Infinite Campus only shows demographic information about that individual parent/guardian and the children in that household. This is just the way the portal family information is displayed, from the perspective of the parent/guardian that has the portal account. Most parents choose to just have one parent portal account and share the login information. However, each parent/guardian can request their own personal portal login account.
